MODEL: EM-8000-2 480Y/277V 3Ø, 4W. |
MODEL: EM-8000-4 480V., 3Ø, 3W. Ungrounded Delta |
| Caution |
| It is recommended that TYTEWADD POWER FILTERS (Secondary Surge Arresters) be installed by a qualified electrician. Electricians should use the same precautionary measures as with any installation involving potentially hazardous voltages. |
| SEE WIRING SCHEMATICS BELOW |
| 3 PHASE INSTALLATION |
| 1. | Confirm the model you plan to install is the correct one according to the voltage chart. |
| 2. | Power down all connected equipment. |
| 3. | Throw (turn off) main disconnect. |
| 4. | Remove breaker box cover plate. (See note #1) |
| 5. | Pigtail arrester as shown below for ease of installation.(Lead stacking is not recommended.) |
| 6. | Secure arresters with enclosed adhesive mounts and straps. |
| 7. | Connect neutral/ground first. |
|
8.
| Connect remaining phases. (see wiring schematic below) |
| 9. | Verify proper arrester neutral and phase connections per color code chart on arrester sections. |
|
10.
| Recheck all connections for mechanical tightness and reinstall cover plate. |
| 11. | Energize at main disconnect - power up equipment. |
|
NOTE #1:
| If the TYTEWADD POWER FILTER sacrificially disrupts due to an extreme lightning or otherwise induced surge or spike, it will short and cause the breaker to which it is connected to open shutting down all power to that circuit. For this reason, if critical loads and/or refrigeration or freezer circuits are being supplied from an electrical panel. It is recommended that the power filter NOT be installed across the MAIN breaker but rather on another breaker within the panel. |
|
NOTE #3:
| THE MANUFACTURER OF THIS PRODUCT IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT OR SYSTEMS WHERE THE OVERCURRENT PROTECTIVE DEVICE OR DEVICES FAILS TO OPEN DUE TO MISAPPLICATION OF THESE DEVICES. THE USER OF THIS SURGE PROTECTION DEVICE SHALL BE LIABLE FOR THE PROPER UTILIZATION OF THE OVERCURRENT DEVICE OR DEVICES AS IT RELATES TO THE AVAILABLE FAULT CURRENT AND THE PROPER PROTECTION OF SAME. |
